“Faith: Believe and Confess”

Romans 10:8-10 NKJV
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The foundation of our faith is based on the confession of Christ’s Lordship over our lives – where the faith of our heart is given substance by speaking. Surely, the need for faith to be spoken does not end there.

Consider: II Corinthians 4:13 NKJV
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written,
“I believed and therefore I spoke”, we also believe, and therefore speak.

A genuine faith is sustained by speaking those things that the Word of God communicates to the believer about God’s Will and his or her identity in Jesus Christ. Keep the faith of your heart stirred by speaking and confessing what you believe. It’s important to keep an active faith, because it is the victory we have that overcomes the world (I John 5:14).
