Believers are called to a life of holiness and purity, “Because it is written, be holy, for I AM holy” (I Peter 1:16).
The call to holiness, however, is not to be fulfilled in one’s own strength. One’s attempt to fill such a call in his or her own power is vain and fruitless, and leads to much frustration and dissappointment.
God has provided His Holy Spirit, also referred to as the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, or the Helper (John 14:16, 26). The Holy Spirit sanctifies (makes us holy) and empowers us to live a fruitful life based on the Truth of God’s eternal Word, by Grace (II Thessalonians 2:13).
Ask God for the Holy Spirit’s presence in you, and trust His leading. Remember, that you are not in the race alone – God has given a Helper.
Zechariah 4:6 NKJV “..”Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit”, says the Lord.“
