In your time of prayer, give your attention completely to the voice of the Spirit. Cast-off the divided heart (the heart that is thinking about, or is set on something else aside from the moment of prayer – get rid of the distractions.)
Hebrews 10:19-22 KJV
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…”
Every time prayer or petition is made, one’s heart should be set on the privilege that he or she has to enter the holiest and come before the throne of Grace (Hebrews 4:16) – in genuine and sincere worship, with holy reverence for the sacrifice that has been made for us to freely fellowship and commune with God. It is a privilege.
James 5:16 AMP
“The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
When prayer is carried-out this way, (where the heart is yielded to the ministering of the Holy Spirit) in “heartfelt prayer”, the mighty working power of God is accessed. It is the same by which Jesus was raised from the dead (The Power of Life). Imagine that power released in the circumstance for which you are praying – Life being ministered to that which appears to be dead.
The power is certainly available to those with prepared hearts. A prepared heart is a ready heart. Proverbs 4:23 tells us,
“Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Keep your heart set on God.
