Satan is the accuser of the brotherhood of Christian believers. He wants to punish God’s children, in order to get back at God; nevertheless, we overcome him in faith, by the Blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and the Word of our Testimony.
Revelation 12:10-11 (NKJV) “10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
While the enemy, Satan, is relentless in his pursuits to persecute and defeat believers, we have to remain constant in prayer and resisting the devil – full of the Word and Spirit of God, and covered with the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). The life of a Christian believer is spiritual warfare. The Apostle Paul referred to it as“waging a good warfare” and “fighting the good fight of faith”.
I Timothy 1:18 (NKJV) “18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare“
I Timothy 6:12 (NKJV) “12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
Satan is just an accuser, but believers have to be proactive in standing against him. One of the ways that the Bible shows how to silence the enemy is praise.
Psalms 8:2 (NLT) “2 You (God) have taught children and infants to tell of Your strength (to give You praise), silencing your enemies and all who oppose You.”
God has ordained praise as a weapon and form of strength for the Believer. Praise silences the enemy! For a great example of praise in warfare, read II Chronicles 20:1-30.
II Chronicles 20:20-22 (NKJV) “20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:
“Praise the Lord,
For His mercy endures forever.”
22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”
