Believing.

John 3:16 (AMPC)“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever *believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”

Everlasting life is found in believing in Jesus. Believing is an action word that involves trusting in, clinging to, and relying on Jesus.

*believe – Strong’s Greek Definition: #4100, pisteuo – to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to a person or thing); to entrust (especially one’s spiritual well-being to Christ); commit (to trust), or put in trust with

John 1:12 (NKJV)But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name…who were born of God.

*Do you believe in Him? (trust in, cling to, and rely on Him).

If so, then not only are you a child of God, but Romans 9:33 and 10:11 says “whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame“. Mark 9:23 says “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

If you believe in Jesus, you will not be put to shame, and all things are possible to you!

Take Martha (the sister of the dead man Lazarus) as an example of believing in John 11:27. She demonstrates her believing in Jesus by saying “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” In verse 40, Jesus said to Martha, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?“. Just before performing one of the greatest miracles of all, in giving life to Martha’s dead brother Lazarus, Jesus comforts her in what she believed. She was not put to shame, and she saw the impossible become possible as her brother was raised from the dead.

The things that you need to believe, begin first by confessing with your mouth, so that you may get it into your heart. Just like Martha, who confessed who Jesus was, believed, and saw the glory of God.. Just like all who have confessed Jesus and believed for eternal life and salvation by faith.. you will have what you say! – keep saying it. What you say is what you believe! You will have what you say.

In Mark 11:22, Jesus encourages His disciples to “have faith in God“. In verses 23- 24, He says “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Make sure what you are saying and believing lines up with the Word of God.

Romans 10:8 says “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” *(that is the word of faith which we preach)

Say it. Believe it. Have it!
